What Mood Are You In? And Why?

After a stressful situation at the office where two co-workers overreacted in frustration and anger but each defused the ‘heat’ pretty quick, I confirmed what I knew must be true astrologically– that the transiting Moon must be influenced by Mars somehow.

Sure enough, at the time of the confrontation, Moon and Mars were conjunct in Libra.

The Moon (our emotional state of mind) gets stirred up and agitated by Mars’ presence when in conjunction with or aspected by Mars. Actions and reactions can be impulsive and instinctual with a direct impact on our feelings. However, in Libra, the dust can settle fairly quickly. An Air sign, Libra helps Mars shift into our thoughts and the mental realm, helping clear the emotionally charged air. Libra, the sign of the scales and justice, seeks harmony and fairness between people. Mars and Moon in Libra can recognize the aggravated feelings and turn them into corrected behavior (such as mutual apologies). As fast as the frustrating event occurred, that quickly it was mutually transmuted. That is the swift acting effect Mars has on the Moon, especially when both are occupying an Air sign together.

If you have a Vedic Astrology app or software, pay attention to how you’re feeling, how you respond or react, and what planet is aspecting the Moon at that time. If the Moon was influenced by Mars, in particular, did you notice any similar situations of frustration or anger? What mood were you in and did it impact any relationships? You can do the same with your friends and loved ones’ charts and help them understand their feelings and reactions while you see it play out.

The point of having this awareness is to understand why certain feelings and reactions get triggered, and with that awareness you have the ability to minimize or correct any ill-natured words or behaviors that may have caused pain, discomfort, or anger towards another. Sometimes even when we as astrologers have this awareness as foreknowledge because we knew what was going on with the Moon and planets, we still can get caught up in the moment. No one said life is easy! Astrology can help us prepare (ideally) or at least find understanding as to why something happened.

Any time you experience something out of the ordinary (good or difficult), those are the moments when you can readily see what’s going on astrologically.

Astrology is often thought of as a means of ‘prediction’, which can scare people off. They don’t want to be told ‘what might happen’. They don’t realize that astrology helps people gain clarity about situations, the triggers, the emotions, the settings, the results of certain connections, and, yes, the timing of it all. In this way Astrology is less about ‘prediction’ and much more about personal guidance.

Work with Astrology. Learn it. Practice it and it will work for you.
